Genel Energy plc ("the Company") announces that Mark Parris intends to retire as an independent non-executive director of the Company with effect from the close of the 2015 Annual General Meeting.  Mark was appointed to the board on 21 November 2011.

Rodney Chase, Chairman, said

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mark for his valuable contribution to the board's deliberations and for his chairmanship of the Political Risk Committee during his time with the Company.  We wish him every success in his future endeavours."
