         Moloney takes over as Group Managing Director of Glanbia plc

Glanbia plc announces that Mr John Moloney has succeeded Mr Ned Sullivan as
Group Managing Director. Mr Moloney was formerly Chief Operating Officer and
was appointed Group Managing Director Designate in October 2001.

Mr William G Murphy has been appointed Deputy Group Managing Director. An
Executive Director of the Company, Mr Murphy is Chief Executive of the Food
Ingredients Division.

Mr Ned Sullivan will continue to be a Director of the Company in a
non-executive capacity.
