Glanbia plc

Glanbia plc announces the following Board changes with effect from 8 June
2001:

  * the election of Mr Liam Herlihy as Vice Chairman of the Board in
    succession to Mr Eamon Power. Mr Herlihy has been a non-executive Director
    of the Company since September 1997 and was formerly a non-executive
    Director of Waterford Foods plc. He was also elected Vice Chairman of
    Glanbia Co-operative Society Limited. Aged 49, he farms at Headborough,
    Knockanore, Tallow, Co Waterford. Mr Power continues in his capacity as a
    non-executive Director;

  * Mr Michael Walsh continues in his capacity as the other Vice Chairman of
    the Board;


  * the appointment of Mr J Victor Quinlan as a non-executive director of
    the Company. Mr Quinlan previously served as a non-executive Director of
    the Company from May 1996 to May 2000 and is also a director of Glanbia
    Co-operative Society Limited. Aged 56, he farms at Baptistgrange,
    Lisronagh, Clonmel, Co Tipperary.

Mr Quinlan has notified the Company that he has no such details to be
disclosed as required under Paragraph 16.4, Chapter 16 of the Listing Rules.
