Director and Management Changes

 

Singapore/London, 1 July 2021 - Global Invacom (SGX: QS9) (AIM: GINV), the global provider of satellite communications equipment and electronics, announces that Mr Malcolm Burrell has stepped down as Executive Director and Chief Technical Officer of the Group, as part of his retirement plan, with immediate effect but will retain the role of Chief Risk Officer.

 

Global Invacom is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Gordon Blaikie as an Executive Director of the Company, with immediate effect.  Mr Blaikie joined Global Invacom in July 2012 and is currently the Chief Operating Officer, responsible for the manufacturing entities and sales functions of the Group.  He has experience working closely with the Board and senior management team to strategise, streamline and improve the Group's operating performance.  Following today's announcement, Mr Blaikie will be an Executive Director of the Company and the Chief Operating Officer of the Group.

 

Furthermore, the Company announces the appointment of Mr Derek Grice as the Chief Technical Officer of the Group, a non-board appointment. Mr Grice joined Global Invacom in September 2020 as EMEA Engineering Director and brings over 35 years of satellite product development experience to the Group. With his appointment as the Chief Technical Officer of the Group, he is responsible for the continuous development of new technologies and products for current and future market opportunities being addressed by the Company, communicate with the stakeholders on technology advances and changes, and provide guidance and information leading to the strategic direction of the business.

 

Mr Anthony Taylor, CEO and Executive Chairman of Global Invacom, said:
