Successful Tender to Operate the Zadar Gazenica Cruise Port in Croatia
Global Ports Holding Plc ("GPH"), the world's leading cruise port operator, is pleased to announce that, following the completion of a competitive tender process, the Port Authority of Zadar has issued an award decision to grant a concession to GPH for the operating rights of the Zadar cruise port for a duration of 20 years, which remains subject to entering into final concession agreement with the Port of Zadar Authority (the "Concession Agreement'').
Zadar is a historical town in Croatia on the Adriatic Sea and the port has infrastructure that includes a maximum draft of 13m and 1170 meters of total pier length to accommodate big ships. The concession of Zadar includes cruise ship passenger port and terminal services, an international ferry terminal, Ro-Ro services, vehicles and passenger services. It contains a commercial area of 2.400sqm, with leasable retail and office space.
The signing of the Concession Agreement is subject to both parties' agreement on its terms, and the signing is expected to occur within twelve months although there is no certainty on the timing of the completion of the Concession Agreement and its final terms. A further announcement will be made as appropriate.
