Mining Licence Received at Kilimapesa Kenyan Gold Project
Goldplat plc, the AIM quoted gold producer, is pleased to announce that a 21
year Mining Lease for Kilimapesa Gold Mine ('Kilimapesa') has been issued by
Kenya's Minister for Environment and Mineral Resource and was presented today at
a ceremony in Nairobi, to the Chief Executive of Kilimapesa, Mark Austin.
 Kilimapesa will be Kenya's first gold project to receive a Mining Lease since
independence in 1963.
Exploratory underground development at the mine is progressing well with two
auriferous quartz veins being extended on strike to the east. Â The diamond drill
exploration programme results to date remain encouraging and a further
announcement will be made once all results are received.
Goldplat CEO Demetri Manolis said, "Goldplat would like to thank the Honourable
John Michuki, Minister for Environment and Mineral Resources, and all his
colleagues at the Ministry for their assistance in finalising the Mining Lease.
 We look forward to intensifying the mine's development and the erection of the
elution plant which will enable us to produce gold bullion in the near future on
site. Â This production will complement our existing producing operations in
South Africa and Ghana."

This announcement has been reviewed by Mr. Mark Austin, the group geologist for
Goldplat who has more than 25 years of relevant experience in the field of
activity concerned. Â He is a fellow of the Geological Society of South Africa
('GSSA') and has consented to the inclusion of the material in the form and
