APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTORS


Further to the announcement on 11 December 2002 of the appointment of Gareth
Jones, as Chief Executive Officer, Gooch & Housego PLC is pleased to confirm his
appointment as a director with immediate effect.



In addition, Gooch & Housego is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew
Virgin as a director of the Company.



Andrew Virgin joined Gooch & Housego in Ilminster in June 1996.  Initially, he
was responsible for managing the co-ordination of customer services and product
scheduling during a critical stage in the Company's growth.  In 1999, he became
responsible for marketing and promotional activities for the UK and was
influential in raising the Company's profile with its customers while meeting
their technical and commercial requirements. More recently Andrew has been
responsible for global marketing and strategy within the international Group.
