The Grainger Trust Employee Trustee Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of
Grainger Trust plc, has today transferred 1,121 Grainger Trust plc 25p ordinary
shares to a beneficiary of a Group Employee Share Option Scheme.

These shares were held by the Grainger Trust Employee Trustee Limited for the
purposes of employee share schemes and their transfer reduces its total holding
to 323,768 shares.
