                            NON-EXECUTIVE APPOINTMENT

Grainger plc ("Grainger"), the UK's largest quoted residential property owner
and trader, today announces that its Deputy Chief Executive and Finance
Director, Andrew Cunningham, has been appointed as a non-executive director of
The Local Shopping REIT plc, which was admitted to the full list of the London
Stock Exchange today.

Robin Broadhurst, Chairman of Grainger, said:
