                       Further Expansion of Gold, Silver and Uranium Claims

Dublin,  7 January 2008.  Great Western Mining Corporation plc, the Dublin and Nevada based  gold,
silver  and  uranium  exploration  company listed on the PLUS  Market  in  London  (symbol  GWMO),
announced  today  that it has further extended its Cabin Rock prospect in Mineral County,  Nevada.
The  Company  has  added  five  additional claims bringing the total  to  47.  This  is  equal  to
approximately 4 square kilometres.

The  Company is awaiting bottle-roll leaching and chemical analysis tests on recent bulk  samples.
Results are expected in the near future.
