Greencore Group plc ('Greencore') Announces the Appointment of new Chief
Financial Officer





The Board of Directors of Greencore, the leading food group, today (Tuesday,
15th January 2008) announces the appointment of Geoff Doherty as Chief Financial
Officer of the Group and Chief Executive of its Property and Agribusiness
activities. Mr Doherty's appointment will be with effect from February 15th. He
succeeds Patrick Coveney who assumed the position of Group Chief Executive
Designate in December, 2007.



Geoff Doherty (aged 36), a Chartered Accountant (FCA), joined Greencore in 2001
as Group Financial Controller and played a key role in integrating the Greencore
and Hazlewood businesses. In doing so, he drove a highly disciplined approach to
financial and reporting systems, working capital management and cash flow
generation. He was appointed Group Development Director in 2005, joining the
Board in July of that year. He had responsibility for planning and executing the
expansion of the food business as well as Board responsibility for developing
the potential of the Group's property portfolio. He will continue to have
responsibility for the property agenda in his new role.
