Board Appointment at Greencore Group plc ('Greencore')





The Board of Greencore announced today that it has co-opted Mr. Gerald M.
Corbett (53) as a non-executive director of the company with immediate effect.
Gerald Corbett is chairman of Woolworths Group plc, a position he has held since
March, 2001, and is also chairman of Holmes Place plc, a chain of fitness health
clubs to which he was appointed in November, 2003.    Previously, he was Chief
Executive of Railtrack plc and, prior to that, he was Group Finance Director of
Grand Metropolitan plc.  He was a non executive director of Burmah Castrol plc
between 1998 and 2000.   Mr. Corbett has not held any directorship in any other
publicly quoted company in the last five years.      There are no further
disclosures to be made in respect of Mr. Corbett pursuant to Section 6.F.2(b) to
(g) of the Listing Rules.



Commenting on this change, Greencore's chairman, Ned Sullivan said:-



'The Board is delighted that a business person of Gerald Corbett's calibre with
his extensive knowledge and experience of the international consumer goods and
retail sectors has accepted its invitation to join the Board and looks forward
to his contribution to the work of the Board'.
