Two Food Divisions Merged

Greencore Group PLC 28 September 2004 GREENCORE GROUP PLC CONTACT: David Dilger, Chief Executive - Tel: +353 1 605 1045 Greencore Merges its Two Food Divisions Greencore Group plc ('Greencore') announces that it has today merged its two food divisions. Tony Hynes has been appointed to lead the newly named Convenience Food division and has relocated to the United Kingdom. Anne Truelove and Gerry Smith, respectively the current Chief Executives of Greencore Chilled Foods and Greencore Ambient & Frozen, will, as a result, be leaving Greencore. Commenting on the changes, Greencore Chief Executive, David Dilger, said, 'There are clear benefits to further integrating the business and unifying the leadership of all of our convenience food activities. It will result in a single senior point of contact for our customers and a more focussed business structure designed to assist the Group in optimising synergies across our businesses. 'Tony Hynes's energy and enthusiasm, coupled with his disciplined approach and extensive experience in convenience food, make him the ideal candidate for this role. Regretfully, however, this change in structure will result in both Anne and Gerry leaving the Group. They have given many years of loyal service to Greencore and, formerly, Hazlewood Foods and have made a major contribution to the Group's success in our UK and continental European activities. They have our best wishes for the future.' C.M. Bergin Group Company Secretary Greencore Group plc, St. Stephen's Green House, Earlsfort Terrace, Dublin 2. 28th September, 2004.
