Greggs plc ("the Company") announces that, on 5 September 2005 Ian Gregg, Sir
Michael Darrington and Malcolm Simpson (directors of the Company) ceased to be
trustees of the Greggs Employee Benefit Trust, which holds 48,924 ordinary
shares of 20p each in the Company (0.4% of the issued share capital).

1. The total beneficial and non-beneficial holdings of each relevant
director (excluding interests in share options) following this notification are
as follows:

48,924 shares (0.40% of the issued share capital) held by the Employee Benefit
Trust.
3. This announcement constitutes a single announcement of all
notifications received by the Company pursuant to the Companies Act 1985 and
Disclosure Rule 3.1.2 R in respect of the transactions referred to above, all of
which both took place on 5 September 2005 in England and were notified to the
Company on the same date.
