BOARD CHANGES
Trevor Read, Managing Director of Gresham, has informed
the Board of his intention to leave the Company on 31
January, 2000. The Board is pleased to announce the
appointment as Managing Director, with immediate effect,
of Bill Simpson who joined the Company in June and was
recently appointed as a director.
Trevor Read joined Gresham in July, 1997 and has been
responsible for its substantial growth during this time.
Through a series of eight acquisitions, he has helped to
position Gresham as a provider of e-business solutions,
taking the Company into new technologies and operations
across four continents.
Bill Simpson's career in the IT industry spans 15 years
and has covered sales, product management, marketing,
programme management, strategic planning and general
management. Before joining Gresham in June, Bill spent
two years at ICL, most recently as Global Program Manager
for its Payment Systems business in the Banking and
Finance sector. He was formerly with IBM for five years
working in a number of roles, latterly as Worldwide
Segment Manager for its Travel Smart Card Solutions
operations. Since September, he has been Managing
Director of Gresham's European operations which account
for 80 per cent of group revenue.
Gresham's Chairman, Roger Graham, commented: 'Trevor has
made an enormous contribution to Gresham, guiding the
business through a major acquisition programme and a
period of rapid growth. The Board wish Trevor every
success for the future as he takes on fresh challenges in
the IT industry.
Now that the Company is embarking on a period of
integration, I am delighted that a man of Bill's wide IT
industry experience will be managing Gresham and
reviewing the strategic options which the Company faces.'
Gresham will announce its preliminary results for the
year ended 31 October, 1999 on Monday, 7 February, 2000.
