TREASURY SHARES - CANCELLATION

Gulf Investment Fund plc (the "Company") announces that 9,318 shares purchased on 06 December 2016, the 5,000 shares purchased on 08 December 2016, the 7,333 shares purchased on 15 December 2016, the 15,260 shares purchased on 16 December 2016, 10,000 shares purchased on 19 December 2016, the 10,000 shares purchased on 21 December 2016, the 9,340 shares purchased on 22 December 2016 and the 10,000 shares purchased on 29 December 2016 have been cancelled in accordance with the Company's treasury share policy published on 15 August 2010. Following the cancellation, the Company now holds 161,931 shares in treasury.

The Company's issued share capital comprises 92,461,242 ordinary shares with voting rights with a further 161,931 shares held in treasury.

In accordance with the Disclosure and Transparency Rule 5.6.1, the Company's total number of shares with voting rights therefore remains unchanged at 92,461,242.
