                             Annual General Meeting


At the GUS plc Annual General Meeting taking place today, the Chairman Sir
Victor Blank will confirm that the demerger process is on track for completion
in October and that a Circular convening an Extraordinary General Meeting to
approve the demerger is expected to be sent to shareholders shortly.

In line with the normal practice of GUS, the results of the votes of the Annual
General Meeting will be published later today.
