Hammerson Sells B&Q Retail Warehouse in Romford for £21 million
Hammerson plc has sold a retail warehouse in Romford to Prudential plc for £21
million. The 6,700 m(2) freehold property is let to B&Q plc with a lease
expiring in 2018 and currently has a passing rent of £1.34 million per annum.
The property was acquired by Hammerson through its purchase of Grantchester
Holdings PLC last September.
John Bywater, Managing Director of Hammerson UK, said:
' In building our retail parks business, our strategy is to
focus on those assets where we can add value through development and
active asset management. We are recycling the proceeds from
disposals such as this into a number of projects and continuing to
look for further opportunities in the sector.'
Hammerson was advised by Colliers CRE and Prudential was advised by Wilkinson
Williams.
