The Hammerson Scrip Dividend Scheme - Scrip Reference Share Price
On 22 February 2010, the Company announced its results for the year ended 31 December 2009 and declared a Second Interim Dividend of 8.5p ("the 2009 Second Interim Dividend") to be paid entirely as a Property Income Distribution ("PID"), with a scrip alternative. Shareholders electing to participate in the Scrip Dividend Scheme (the "Scheme") will receive new ordinary shares in the Company instead of cash in respect of the 2009 Second Interim Dividend which is proposed to be paid on 1 April 2010.
The Scrip Reference Share Price which will be used in calculating the number of new ordinary shares is 396.3p.
This figure is equal to the average of the closing middle market quotations derived from the Daily Official List of the London Stock Exchange for the five dealing days commencing on 3 March 2010, being the day on which the Company's ordinary shares were first quoted "ex dividend".
A letter summarising how Shareholders can participate in the Scheme was posted to Shareholders on 22 February 2010 (the "Letter"). This, together with a guide containing the terms and conditions of the Scheme (the "Guide"), are available on the Company's website, www.hammerson.com on the "Investors" page.
