HARGREAVES SERVICES PLC ('the Company')
Hargreaves Services plc notes the recent comment in the media regarding the
potential extension of the life of Maltby Colliery from 2017 to 2027 and beyond.
By way of clarification, the Company reiterates what it said with regards to
Maltby in its interim results announcement on 14/02/08. Namely, that 'We
(Hargreaves Services plc) are also currently undertaking a review of the
technical and financial feasibility of reaching new areas of reserves outside
the current area of working with a view to potentially extending the mine beyond
the current forecast expected closure date of 2017'.
Importantly we note that there can be no guarantee at this stage that the
viability of Maltby Colliery can be extended beyond 2017.
