UK Coal advises that, pursuant to the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules, it was notified on 27 June 2008 that following a transaction on 26 June 2008 Lazard Asset Management LLC has a notifiable interest in 8,048,931 ordinary shares of 1p, representing 5.12%of the voting rights in the total issued ordinary share capital of UK Coal.
