NOTIFICATION OF INTERESTS OF DIRECTORS AND CONNECTED PARTIES

HELICAL BAR PLC ('Helical Bar 'or 'the Company')

The Company was informed today that the following transactions had taken place:

1.         Exercise of Share Options

On 19 August 2008 subscriptions options over 111,291 new ordinary 1p shares were exercised in accordance with the rules of the Helical Bar 1999 Share Option Scheme.

Following the exercise of these options the Company had 96,843,748 ordinary 1p shares in issue.

Included in these transactions are options exercised by the following directors:

Michael Slade

Options over 88,701 shares exercised at 88.5p per share.

Nigel McNair Scott

Options over 22,590 shares exercised at 88.5p per share.

2.         Sale of Shares

    On 19 August 2008 the following Directors sold shares in the Company:

    Michael Slade

    88,701 shares sold at 335.42p per share.

    Nigel McNair Scott

    22,590 shares sold at 335.42p per share.  

3.            Directors' Interests in Shares

    Following these transactions the interests of Michael Slade and Nigel McNair  
    Scott in the shares of the Company are as follows:
