                         NOTIFICATION OF SHARE PURCHASE

                HELICAL BAR PLC ('Helical Bar' or 'the Company')


The Company was informed that the following transaction had taken place:

1.   Helical Bar plc Employee Share Ownership Plan Trust ('ESOP')

     On 28th May 2007 the Company's ESOP purchased 217,799 ordinary 1p shares in 
     the company at 425p per share.  Following this purchase the ESOP holds 
     5,459,239 (5.7%) ordinary 1p shares in the company.
