Appointment of a new Director
The Board of Henderson EuroTrust plc ("the Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephen King, as a non-executive director with effect from 1 December 2019.
Having been HSBC chief economist for 17 years until 2015, Stephen King is currently senior economic adviser to HSBC on a part time basis. He has written three books Losing Control: The Emerging Threats to Western Prosperity (2010), When the Money Runs Out: The End of Western Affluence (2013) and Grave New World: The End of Globalization, the Return of History (2017). Stephen started his career as an economist for the Treasury and was ultimately private secretary to the chief economic adviser. He was specialist advisor to the House of Commons' Treasury Committee between 2015 and 2017. He is a fellow of the Society of Professional Economists and sits on the management council of the National Institute of Economic & Social Research.
In accordance with paragraphs 9.6.13 (1) to (6) of the Listing Rules, it is confirmed that there are no details to be disclosed in relation to Stephen King.
David Marsh will be retiring at the Annual General Meeting in November 2020 having completed the maximum permitted term of nine years under the Board's tenure policy.
