                               Board Appointments



The Board of Henderson High Income Trust plc announces that, with immediate
effect, Mr Vivian Bazalgette and Mr Andrew Bell have been appointed as
Non-Executive Directors.



An investment specialist in asset allocation and UK equities, Vivian Bazalgette
(53) is currently a non-executive director of Brunner Investment Trust plc and
an advisor to the BAE Systems Pension Fund.  After a spell at Gartmore
Investment Management plc where he rose to become MD Pension Funds, he joined M&
G plc in 1996 as CIO and a main board director.  Following the takeover of M&G
by Prudential plc in 1999, he was appointed CIO of the new company in 2000.



Andrew Bell (49) is currently Head of Research and Strategy at Carr Sheppards
Crosthwaite and a director of Framlington Innovative Growth Trust plc.
Previously, after 8 years in the oil industry and a spell in European Equities
at Phillips and Drew, he became European Equity Strategist at BZW in 1991 and,
subsequent to the take-over by CSFB, co-Head of Investment Trusts from 1997 to
2000.



Mr Bazalgette and Mr Bell are also being appointed to the Board of the Company's
subsidiary, Henderson High Income Trust Securities plc, with immediate effect.
