In conformity with the Disclosure and Transparency Rule 5.6.1 The Henderson Smaller Companies Investment Trust plc notifies the market of the following:

As at 28 February 2010, The Henderson Smaller Companies Investment Trust plc's capital with voting rights consists of 75,035,796 ordinary shares of 25p each.  The Company has no shares in treasury.

Therefore, the total number of voting rights in The Henderson Smaller Companies Investment Trust plc is 75,035,796.

The above figure (75,035,796) may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, The Henderson Smaller Companies Investment Trust plc under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
