Hiscox allotted 100,726 ordinary shares of 5p each ('Shares') on 9 February
2001 at the following option prices, following the exercise of options under
the Hiscox Holdings Inland Revenue Approved Share Option Scheme:

20,145 Shares at price of 22p each
60,436 Shares at price of 33p each
20,145 Shares at price of 19p each

Hiscox also allotted 50,364 Shares at a price of 115p each under the Hiscox
Holdings Inland Revenue Unapproved Share Option Scheme.

Hiscox also allotted 10,301 Shares at a price of 106p each following the
exercise of options under the Sharesave Scheme.

All of the above shares will rank pari passu with the existing class of
ordinary 5p shares in issue.
