Hiscox plc ('Hiscox') has been notified on 10 November 2003 on behalf of
Fidelity International Limited ('FIL'), that FIL and various direct and indirect
subsidiaries, as non-beneficial holders, are interested in 20,207,421 ordinary
shares of 5p each in the issued share capital of Hiscox, representing 6.99 per
cent. of the issued share capital.
