Regulatory News Announcement - Performance Share Plan Awards

REPLACEMENT ANNOUNCEMENT

This announcement replaces the Performance Share Plans Awards announcement released on 14 April 2009 at 16.15, RNS number 5511Q.

In the announcement released on 14 April 2009, the amount of ordinary shares awarded to RRSH Hiscox was stated to be 50,000. The number of shares awarded was 75,000 ordinary shares, as detailed in this release.

HAMILTON; On 7 April 2009, the Board of Hiscox Ltd (the 'Company') granted awards over a total of 3,766,000 ordinary shares of 5p each in the Company pursuant to the Hiscox Ltd Performance Share Plan. The awards are subject to performance conditions which will be calculated over a three year period, and to the extent these are satisfied, the awards will vest and become exercisable on 8 April 2012. No price is payable on the exercise of these awards.
