On 21 April 2006, Hiscox plc allotted 82,441 shares at an exercise price of
£1.252, 22,559 shares at an exercise price of £1.809, and 32,967 shares at an
exercise price of £1.020 under the Hiscox Unapproved Share Option Scheme.

On 21 April 2006, Hiscox plc allotted 15,791 shares at an exercise price of
£1.281 under the Hiscox Approved Share Option Scheme.

These shares will rank pari passu with the existing class of ordinary 5p shares
in issue.

The issued share capital of Hiscox plc is now 392,459,734 ordinary shares of 5p
each.
