Approved Option Scheme

We wish to advise that today Hiscox plc allotted 10,945 shares of 5p each at an
exercise price of 175.4p under the Approved Option Scheme.

Unapproved Option Scheme

We wish to advise that today Hiscox plc allotted 21,891 shares of 5p each at an
exercise price of 180.9p and 50,000 shares of 5p each at an exercise price of
129.0p.

These shares will rank pari passu with the existing class of ordinary 5p shares
in issue.

The issued share capital of Hiscox plc is now 294,812,356 ordinary shares of 5p
each.
