HOME RETAIL GROUP plc
('the Company')
DIRECTORS' SHAREHOLDINGS
The Company has been advised by Abacus Corporate Trustee Limited ('Abacus') that
Abacus, as trustee of the Home Retail Group plc Employee Share Trust ('the
Trust'), now holds 7,543,530 Ordinary shares of 10 pence each in the Company.
The notification from Abacus was received by the Company on 22 December.
As announced on 19 December, the holding at that date was 7,545,344 Ordinary
shares. Since then 1,814 Ordinary shares have been released in connection with
the exercise of options granted under GUS plc's former UK share option schemes.
Directors of the Company are potential beneficiaries of the Trust and
accordingly any changes in the shareholdings by the Trust are deemed to change
their interests in the Ordinary share capital of the Company.
