PDMRs' SHAREHOLDINGS

The Company announces the following changes in the interests of persons discharging managerial responsibility in its Ordinary Shares of 10 pence each (the 'Ordinary Shares'), of which notification was received on 9 May 2008.

Notification of these changes is made pursuant to DR 3.1.4R(1)(a).

1)  Grant of awards under the Home Retail Group Performance Share Plan

The Company made awards on 9 May 2008 under the terms of the Home Retail Group Performance Share Plan. The awards are subject to performance conditions and the maximum numbers of shares that could vest in the case of each of the persons discharging managerial responsibility are as follows:

2) Grant of awards under the Home Retail Group Co-Investment Plan 

The following persons discharging managerial responsibility have opted to defer receipt of their bonus for the financial period ended 1 March 2008 and to invest it in Ordinary Shares in the Company under the Co-Investment Plan. The resulting number of invested Ordinary Shares and the contingent interests in matching shares awarded on 9 May 2008 for nil consideration in connection with this plan, which are subject to performance conditions, are as follows:

The purchase of the invested Ordinary Shares acquired on behalf of the above persons was made on 9 May 2008 at a price of 273.2819 pence per share. The award of the matching Ordinary Shares was also made on 9 May 2008.
