                              HOLDING IN COMPANY


The Company was informed today that following the purchase on 15 June 2001 of
50,000 ordinary shares of 5p each in the capital of the Company ('Ordinary
Shares') representing 0.69 per cent. of Hornby's issued share capital that
Jeremy Hosking holds 402,840 Ordinary Shares, representing 5.56 per cent. of
the Company's issued share capital.


In addition Jeremy Hosking has an interest, in his capacity as trustee of
Morgan Nominees Limited, in 240,000 Ordinary Shares, representing 3.31 per
cent. of the Company's issued share capital.
