                    MFI Furniture Group Plc - Board changes

MFI Furniture Group Plc confirms the appointment of Will Samuel as Chairman with
immediate effect. As previously announced, he was appointed on 20 July 2006 as
Chairman-designate with a view to succeeding Ian Peacock following a planned
transition. As separately announced, the disposal of the Retail business has
been approved by shareholders at the Extraordinary General Meeting held today
and following that successful outcome, Ian Peacock will step down from the Board
with immediate effect.

The Company also confirms the appointment of Angus Cockburn as a Non Executive
Director with immediate effect. Angus Cockburn has been Group Finance Director
of Aggreko PLC since 2000, having previously been Managing Director of Pringle
of Scotland and Regional Finance Director Central Europe for Pepsico Foods. He
is a Chartered Accountant and qualified with KPMG Peat Marwick.

Commenting on the appointments, Will Samuel said 'The Board is grateful to Ian
Peacock for steering the Company through its recent changes and to the threshold
of its new strategic direction. I am pleased that Angus Cockburn is joining the
Board at this key point in the Company's development as it exits from the Retail
business and moves forward to expand its successful Howden operation. His
experience will be valuable to us in that process'.

In accordance with paragraph 16.4 of the Listing Rules, it is confirmed that
there are no details to be disclosed in relation to Angus Cockburn under
paragraph 6.F.2 (b) to (g) of the Listing Rules.
