TRANSACTION IN OWN SHARES

Howden Joinery Group Plc (the "Company") announces that on 25 February 2016 it purchased through UBS Limited the following number of its ordinary shares at an average price of 496.73p per share:

Number of ordinary shares purchased:	200,000
Highest purchase price paid per share:	498.60p
Lowest purchase price paid per share:	493.90p

The purchased shares will be held as treasury shares. Following the above transaction, the Company holds 9,352,000 ordinary shares in treasury, and has 642,478,815 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
