ITE APPOINTS CHIEF EXECUTIVE
ITE Group plc, the international exhibitions group specialising in emerging and
developing markets, announced today the appointment of Bill Dye (45) as Chief
Executive. Mr Dye replaces Ian Tomkins who, as previously announced in
December, is stepping down from the role for personal reasons and returning to
his native Australia. Bill is expected to join ITE in September.
Mr Dye joins ITE from the FTSE-100 support services group Capita where he is
Executive Director of the Business Services division, which has a turnover of
some £500m and over 5,000 employees. Since joining Capita in 2002, Bill has held
a number of senior management positions including Corporate Development
director, responsible for guiding the company into new markets.
Prior to joining Capita, Bill built two media companies, Elements (1989-96),
which provided support services to the computerised advertising and graphic arts
sector, and Unidigital (1996-2001), also a media services group and which was
NASDAQ listed.
Commenting Iain Paterson, Chairman of ITE, said:
'Bill has the qualities that we are looking for in the new chief executive of
ITE - in particular he has experience of the media services industries, led and
managed a business larger than ITE and has an international outlook. In a
thorough selection process, he has met all members of our board and we expect
him to fit in well with the ITE culture and our experienced management team as
ITE continues to implement its successful strategy and enters the next stage of
its development.
'Once again, I would like to thank Ian for his significant contribution to ITE,
culminating in its entry to the FTSE 250, and wish him well for the future in
Australia. There will be a short handover period with Bill during September.'
