                            Appointment of Director


IG Group Holdings plc ('IG' or 'the Group') is pleased to announce that Roger
Yates has joined the Board as non-executive and Senior Independent Director with
effect from 9 February. Roger, 48, is Chief Executive of Henderson Group plc.


Roger has 23 years' experience in the fund management industry as an investment
professional and business manager. Previously, he was Chief Investment Officer
of Invesco Global and held senior roles for fund management companies LGT and
Morgan Grenfell.


Roger was a director of AMP Limited between December 2002 and December 2003;
there are no further details required to be disclosed pursuant to Listing Rule
9.6.13R in connection with his appointment. He has no current interests in IG
shares.


IG also announces that the Board has invited Robert Lucas to remain a
non-executive Director of the Group and he has accepted. The invitation was
prompted by funds managed by CVC Capital Partners Limited ('CVC') recently
reducing their shareholding below 15% which led to the expiry of CVC's right to
be represented on the Board.
