MULTIPLE NEW CONTRACTS SECURED
FOR 3D X-RAY TECHNOLOGY OF OVER £750,000
The Board of Image Scan, specialists in the field of real-time 3D and 2D x-ray
imaging for the 'Homeland Security' and 'Industrial Inspection' markets,
announces that further orders have been received for its Axis-3d(R) system from
China and for its MDXi-400TM system from Johnson Matthey in the US.
Following comprehensive negotiations with its Chinese distributor, Shanghai
Unitech, the Company has received two new orders for its Axis-3d(R) baggage
screening system. The first order is for one machine based on the second
generation of the Company's 3D technology and is expected to be delivered within
the next 8 weeks. The second order, valued at £630,000, is conditional on the
satisfactory acceptance testing of the new design. It is anticipated that both
Axis-3d(R) orders should be deliverable in the current financial year but this
will be dependent on the prompt approval of the first system.
Furthermore, the Company has recently sold an MDXi-400TM system to Johnson
Matthey to operate alongside the three inspection systems already supplied by
Image Scan into their US plant.
As a result the order book at the end of our first half stood at £1m comprising
the Chinese orders announced above and TPXi orders as referred to in the recent
trading update. Whilst these orders will enable the Company to meet its sales
target for homeland security, further industrial sales must be secured to
achieve the overall objective of stabilising the financial position of the
Company.
Image Scan's CEO, Nick Fox, commented, 'Following recent success in selling the
Axis-3d(R) system for use at the Beijing Olympics, we have now secured the
opportunity for significant sales into China. This will form a platform for
further collaboration in China and help establish a market for the Axis-3d(R)
system in the Far East.'
