                             Inchcape Board changes

Inchcape plc, the international automotive services group, today announces the
retirement of two of its Board Directors.

Trevor Taylor, Non-executive Deputy Chairman and Non-executive Director, will
retire at the end of this year and Simon Robertson, Senior independent
Non-executive Director, will step down at Inchcape's next Annual General Meeting
in May 2005.

Trevor Taylor has been associated with Inchcape plc for some seventeen years
after joining the Group's Toyota (GB) business in 1987. He was appointed Chief
Executive of the Inchcape Toyota Division in 1995.

In 1998 Trevor joined the Inchcape Board. He was appointed Executive Deputy
Chairman in July 1999 and became a Non-executive Director and Non-executive
Deputy Chairman in February 2001.

Simon Robertson joined the Inchcape Board in May 1996 and became a Member of the
Audit and Nomination Committees in June 1996. Simon has also been a Member of
the Remuneration Committee since August 2000.
