               NOTICE OF CLOSE PERIOD SHARE REPURCHASE PROGRAMME


This announcement replaces the announcement of 21 December 2007, in which the
dates of Inchcape's close period were incorrectly stated.

Inchcape announces today that it will commence an irrevocable, non-discretionary
programme through Dresdner Kleinwort to purchase ordinary shares of 25p each in
the Company on its own behalf during its close period which commences on 1
January 2008 and ends on the publication of Inchcape's Preliminary results on 26
February 2008.

Any acquisitions will be effected within certain pre-set parameters, and in
accordance with both Inchcape's general authority to repurchase shares and
Chapter 12 of the Listing Rules, which requires that the maximum price paid be
limited to no more than 105 per cent of the average middle market closing price
of Inchcape's Ordinary Shares for the five dealing days preceding the date of
purchase.
