                          Share re-purchase programme



Inchcape plc ('the Company') announces that on 14 June 2006, it purchased 94,045
ordinary shares of 25p each.   The maximum price paid was 418p and the minimum
price paid was 409p.

 The Company intends to hold these shares in treasury.

Since the Company started buying back shares on 15 April 2005, it has acquired
17,880,606 ordinary shares.  Following the purchase of these shares the Company
holds17,880,606 of its shares in treasury and has 463,286,118 shares in issue
(excluding treasury shares).
