Appointment of Director

TriVest VCT plc is pleased to announce that it has appointed Helen Sinclair to
be a non-executive director of the Company with effect from 29 January 2003.



Helen has extensive experience of investing in a wide range of small and medium
sized businesses. She graduated in Economics from Cambridge University and began
her career in banking.  After an MBA at INSEAD business school, Helen worked
from 1991 to 1998 at 3i plc based in their London office. During her time at 3i
plc two companies in which she was the lead venture capital investor won the
BVCA Small Start Up of the Year Award. She was a founding director of Matrix
Private Equity Ltd when it was established in early 2000 and has since raised
two funds, the Matrix Venture Fund VCT plc and the Matrix Enterprise Fund.
Helen is also a non-executive director of Signature Brands Group plc and Paul
Costelloe Collections Limited.
