The following announcement which was released yesterday under RNS number 5171X
showed an incorrect figure for the number of ordinary shares of 1p each retained
in issue. The figure should have read 39,757,413 and not 40,157,413 as was
stated. An amended version of the announcement is below.

Shares in issue
The Board announces that the company retains in issue 39,757,413 ordinary shares
of 1p each. The allotment and purchase, for cancellation, history is shown
below.
Allotments in the period to 30 September 2001 pursuant to the offer for
subscription dated 13 October 2000, and supplementary prospectus dated 27
February 2001 amount to 41,801,516.
Purchases for cancellation are as follows:
Year to 30 September 2002 29,557
Year to 30 September 2003 25,000
Year to 30 September 2004 467,282
Year to 30 September 2005 1,122,264
Year to 30 September 2006 400,000
2,044,103
The shares are listed on the Official List of the UK Listing Authority and
traded on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange.
