Austria's UTA selects InterconnecT ASP as preferred billing solution
* Ten year ASP contract strengthens Intec's position in central
Europe.
* Application Service Provision offers fast implementation and
seamless support
June 28, 2001 - Intec Telecom Systems, a world leader in operational support
systems (OSS) for telecom companies, will provide its InterconnecT ASPTM
inter-carrier billing service to UTA, Austria's largest private fixed network
provider. As part of the ten-year, multi-million pound deal, Intec's
experienced team will be responsible for operating UTA's InterconnecT system,
allowing the network to effectively cope with growing traffic volumes and
expanding customer requirements.
'Intec's ASP service ensures that the skill set is always available to
effectively integrate and run the system,' says Hans Erich Goldstein, from
UTA. 'We are confident that installation will be completed quickly and revenue
generation will commence from the first day of operation.'
Intec's complete ASP-based interconnect billing package eliminates the worry
of selecting an accurate billing system or a server installation that can
manage anticipated traffic growth. Interconnect, the market leader in
inter-carrier billing settlement systems, is quickly installed by experienced
staff and effectively maintained to provide a professional, seamless
operation.
As an ASP provider, Intec will help to support UTA's competitiveness in one of
the most liberalised and advanced telecommunications industries in Europe.
Austria has over four million telephone lines and two million mobile phone
subscribers. Internet usage is also higher than the EU average, creating a
strong demand for e-commerce and faster accessibility through ADSL services.
UTA's product portfolio complements these demands, providing world-class data
communications, Internet accessibility and e-business solutions across its
networks. InterconnecT ensures that these services are supported by a flexible
billing system, capable of rating and billing all kinds of traffic. Its
functionality and scalability help to reduce revenue losses and time-to-market
for new product offerings while supporting large volumes of billing data.
'Intec's experience in intercarrier billing and integration will provide UTA
with a powerful OSS capability,' says Kevin Adams, Intec's CEO. 'This deal
will facilitate further business expansion in Austria, providing a secure
foundation to introduce Intec's other billing, mediation and fraud management
products to the market.'
