Intec Telecom Systems PLC 6 November 2001 Intec signs million pound billing and revenue assurance software deal with UK's Kingston Communications Deal includes Intec's Maxi-routE and InterogatE revenue assurance solutions London - November 6, 2001 - Intec Telecom Systems, a global supplier of Operational Support Systems (OSS) for fixed, mobile and IP/next-generation networks, has signed a contract worth around £1 million to supply its InterconnecT(TM), Maxi-routE(TM) and InterogatE(TM) software products to Kingston infrastructure, a division of the Kingston Communications Group, one of the UK's leading independent communications companies. After an extensive evaluation process Intec was selected over other suppliers on its global reputation for interconnect solutions with proven scalability and performance, and its ability to supply well-integrated revenue assurance technology. The agreement includes Intec's recently launched Maxi-routE (least cost routing) and InterogatE (network intelligence) software, which will provide Kingston with a comprehensive revenue assurance package. InterconnecT, the world's leading intercarrier settlement system, will enable Kingston to accurately bill its business partners and other carriers for using its network facilities and services. Maxi-routE will complement InterconnecT by using billing, usage and service level information to determine optimal least-cost routing options for its traffic. This will help to reduce Kingston's interconnect costs while maintaining the optimal quality of service. InterogatE's network intelligence technology will provide Kingston with accurate data on the business and customer performance of the network, such as revenue and cost trends on particular routes. This information will help revenue assurance, network and management staff to optimise financial and technical performance of Kingston's innovative communications services. 'We chose Intec because of its well-established expertise. Intec's leadership in interconnect systems can enhance our existing performance and lead to significant cost savings,' says Cielo Cartwright, finance director for Kingston infrastructure. 'Intec has the depth of experience to understand our business, which includes a broad portfolio of voice, data, Internet and mobile services. 'InterconnecT has set the standard for interconnect billing, and we expect to gain additional financial and operating benefits from integrating it with Maxi-routE and InterogatE.' 'Kingston remains an innovator in the UK's changing telecoms market. Its decision to upgrade to Intec's solutions highlights the need for operators to continually assess their support systems, and take advantage of technology that can offer hard financial and operational benefits in a competitive market climate,' says Kevin Adams, CEO at Intec. Launched in 2001, Intec's Maxi-routE and InterogatE solutions provide a class-leading revenue assurance platform for telecom companies. Maxi-routE offers many operating benefits including the ability to reduce interconnect costs, and to help assure quality of service. By optimising cost and quality of service on the network, Maxi-routE will help Kingston offer its subscribers the best possible service at very competitive prices. InterogatE provides accurate, call database reports on the business performance of a network. InterogatE will gather real-time information from the incoming accounting records generated by Kingston's network elements including switches, routers and servers. This will enable the company to make effective management decisions for optimising revenue and developing new services.
