Maroc Telecom Selects Intec for InterconnecT ITU billing
• Million + cross-selling deal extends relationship
July 30th, 2002 - Intec Telecom Systems, a global provider of Operations Support
Systems (OSS) for fixed, wireless, and IP/next generation networks, today
announced the signing of an InterconnecT TM ITU billing agreement with Maroc
Telecom, the leading telecommunications operator in Morocco. Valued at over one
million Euros, the deal includes integration services and license fees. Maroc
Telecom is an existing user of Intec's InterconnecT solution, which offers a
flexible billing platform to seamlessly support the company's customer base and
business needs. Through the implementation of InterconnecT ITU, Maroc Telecom
will also gain the capability to crossbill and settle accounts with full
compliance to the standards defined by the International Telecommunications
Union (ITU).
"This agreement builds on our successful relationship with Intec and its
InterconnecT solution," said Hassan Mouhsine, Sales Director of Maroc Telecom.
"As the leader in intercarrier billing, Intec delivers the most technologically
advanced billing product to the market. Maroc Telecom is an existing user of
InterconnecT and is very happy with the solution's scalability and flexibility,
which has helped us to manage our domestic billing requirements. As Maroc
Telecom begins to partner with more international clients, ITU compliance will
be extremely important for doing business. We are confident that the
installation of Intec's software will bring us the support we need to follow ITU
guidelines while expanding our operations at a global level. "
Managed by Vivendi Universal, one of the biggest media and communications
companies in the world, Maroc Telecom provides a range of fixed, mobile and IP/
next generation services to over 4 million telecom users in Morocco.
InterconnecT ITU will help Maroc Telecom to support this customer base by
offering a comprehensive and highly scalable solution that produces accurate
settlements of ITU based-charges for its business partners.
"Intec is extremely pleased to extend its InterconnecT relationship with Maroc
Telecom," said Christian Ciupek, Intec's Regional Director. "Maroc Telecom is an
exceptional business partner that recognises the value of our services and
products. Intec is also happy to win another deal in Africa, especially on the
ITU side. Africa is a key market for us, as international settlement represents
a large portion of incoming revenue for the African continent. By investing in
our products, local operators can improve this revenue stream for the benefit of
both the company and the country's economy."
