Intec Telecom Systems PLC

Intec and Giza Systems sign a second OSS deal with Telecom Egypt
London/Cairo - 24th October, 2002 - Intec Telecom Systems, a global provider of
Operations Support Systems (OSS) for telecommunications companies, and Giza
Systems, a leading IT solution provider in the Middle-East, today announced a
substantial second contract win with Telecom Egypt. The deal will supply Telecom
Egypt, the country's national communications company, with Intec's InterconnecT
ITUTM product for use in settling accounts with full compliance to the standards
outlined by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU). Telecom Egypt is
an existing user of Intec's InterconnecTTM and Inter-mediatETM solutions for
intercarrier billing and mediation, which were successfully implemented and
supported by Giza Systems across the company's network in 2002. The business
benefits achieved through the installation of these solutions encouraged the
company to purchase InterconnecT ITU, which will complement the domestic
intercarrier settlement platform.
"Intec's Inter-mediatE and InterconnecT solutions have enabled us to optimise
our profitability, and we anticipate the same level of success with the
implementation of InterconnecT ITU," says Azza Turk, Vice President, Telecom
Egypt. "This project confirms Intec's partnership with Giza Systems to be a
success, and assures their ability to work together in providing a flexible
billing platform, giving us the ability to easily evolve our services and
business models to meet emerging market requirements."
"We are very pleased to extend our close relationship with Giza Systems and work
with them again to service and support Telecom Egypt," says Tarek Mneimneh,
Intec's Middle-East regional manager. "As the biggest and most influential
telecommunications company in the country, Telecom Egypt's approval for our
products is a strong endorsement for Intec. The company was impressed by the
flexibility and scalability of Intec's InterconnecT and Inter-mediatE solutions,
which have helped to deliver additional revenue streams through fast and
accurate usage collection, mediation and billing. InterconnecT ITU will provide
even further settlement support as Telecom Egypt continues to expand the scope
of its business to include more international partnerships."
Intec's InterconnecT ITU billing solution will allow Telecom Egypt to improve
its billing of international interconnection partners in line with global
regulations. As the leader in intercarrier billing with nearly 40% market share,
Intec's InterconnecT solution provides Telecom Egypt with a proven technology
that can support any network requirement, including next generation services.
InterconnecT ITU offers full international settlements capability, including
automated reconciliation of settlements statements, issuance of ITU settlements
statements and automated settling.
"Together with Intec we strive to offer customers the best and most innovative
network solutions," explains Shehab El Nawawi, Managing Director of Giza
Systems. "Winning a second agreement with Telecom Egypt is a testament of the
quality of products service and support that we deliver. Giza is extremely
pleased to work with Intec to extend its services to one of the biggest
telecommunications companies in the Middle-East, and we expect to see further
opportunities arise in the region as result of this success."
