INTERMEDIATE CAPITAL GROUP ANNOUNCES THE ACQUISITION OF A LOAN PORTFOLIO FROM
THE ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND
Intermediate Capital Group PLC ("ICG"), the FTSE 250 listed investment firm and
fund manager specialising in mezzanine finance, growth capital, buyout debt and
related assets, announces it has agreed to acquire a portfolio of European loans
from the Royal Bank of Scotland ("RBS").
The portfolio comprises €1.4 billion (at par value) of primarily European senior
loans across a diversified range of sectors.
The transaction is expected to complete by the end of August 2010, and will be
financed by equity and debt. The equity for the investment will be provided by
ICG and its funds (ICG European Fund 2006 and ICG Recovery Fund 2008). Terms of
the transaction are not disclosed.
ICG will manage the portfolio alongside its other senior loan and high yield
investment vehicles in its Credit Fund Management business which currently
manages over €4.7 billion of assets.
