Executive director board appointment and organisational changes
Intertek Group plc ('Intertek'), the leading international provider of quality
and safety services to a wide range of industries, announces the appointment of
a new Executive Director to the Board of Intertek Group plc and organisational
structure changes to some of the Group's businesses.
Mark Loughead, currently Executive Vice President of Intertek's Oil, Chemical &
Agri division, joins the Board of Intertek Group plc with effect from 1 January
2008. Mark also assumes a new role as Chief Operating Officer, with
responsibility for global integration of sales, key account management, global
information systems and country-focused sales and support across the Group.
To better capture rapid growth opportunities in certain sectors and to increase
the focus on customers in their specific industries, from 1 January 2008
Intertek will be organised into seven divisions: Consumer Goods; Commercial &
Electrical; Analytical Services; Minerals; Oil, Chemical & Agri Cargo;
Industrial Services; and Government Services.
Vanni Treves, Chairman of Intertek, commented:
'I am delighted to welcome Mark to the Board. His wealth of experience, from his
30 years in the industry, 19 of which have been with Intertek, will be an asset
to the Board and will support our ongoing focus on increasing value for our
